I absolutely love my Flex! Also so has everyone I've let drive it. 

I love my Flex! It’s the closest thing to an old school full-size wagon that you can buy. It drives like a car but can out haul an SUV. The ecoboost is a lot of fun although I’m not loving the gas mileage.

+1 on ecoboost Flex. If he’s rolling with two car seats, I don’t really think his ex will allow him to roll in some 40+ year old car with her kids? THAT won’t lead to any fights at the designated exchange spot and eventually more lawyer’s fees fighting the modification of the child custody agreement.

Hell man, my dad had one of those and I used to ride behind the bench seat. BEHIND IT! It was a 3 speed and I can remember my head bouncing of the rear glass when dad shifted gears.
