I like it.

I was just joking. But I wouldn't put it past Moffat to bring either one back at some point. That dude lies his ass off about this show all the time. And he did drop a reference to the Valeyard in to "The Name of the Doctor."

Insane Random Missy Theory of the Week: Missy is the Valeyard.

I'm assuming that Varrick is trying to reverse engine bending powers with that spirit root.

Neil Gaiman.

Well, her mom is dead, so maybe it's like a way for her to be closer to her. Or it's for business reasons to cultivate a certain professional image.

Props to Katara for finding a hair style she liked when she was twelve and just sticking with it for seventy years.

Batman Beyond for sure.

It would still be problematic, just for other reasons. I feel like Eliza calling Henry out for slut shaming was the writers trying to get across that Henry was kind of going over the line.

I really hope Sara returns in the near future, maybe via Lazarus Pit? I'm assuming that's how Merlyn came back to life, it makes the most sense with his story on the show, but I don't know if the writers are willing to take the show that far in to fantasy. Then again, if the end of the Flash pilot means what I think

Is "crossover" the right word when it's just somebody who worked on one project working on another?

I didn't hate the pilot, but wow is this episode about a hundred times better. It's already shaping up to be a funny show, ad the way it handles social media and technology as a whole is smart and realistic (for the most part).
The show felt a little judgey about Eliza's sex life, but I think it struck a decent

The show's tone reminds me more of Batman: The Animated Series than the '60's series starring Adam West. The Balloonman could totally have been a villain in one of the mediocre episodes of the former, and that series could switch from incredibly corny to dark and brooding within the same episode.

I really dug the episode, and would very much like to see regular coverage on the AV Club. Maybe you can do reviews with a rotating stable of critics? I'm sure many of the writers for the site grew up loving Star Wars, so maybe bouncing between critics would be a good way to both cover the show but not overload any

I know a guy who's both really in to fantasy football and also references the "more cowbell" sketch every time I talk to him, so that bit got me more than it probably should have.

It's basically what they've done in every book. Every season so far has had a lot of things going on behind the scenes when it comes to the villains.

I now want an episode in which the characters just stay home and play Xenoblade Chronicles for half an hour.

I was one of the (seemingly) few people looking forward to the show. I loved Broadchurch last year, and the fact that it was being remade so quickly didn't bother me at all. I was interested to see how it would be handled. It might be too quick to jump to conclusions about it, having only seen the first episode,

The bandits who stole the food from Opal and Kai were totally working for Kuvira, right? That was totally set up so that she could get the town.

I really liked that they used the sounds from Doodle Jump without showing Doodle Jump.
