The reason it is “banned” is because you need a roll cage (not just a bar), window net, NHRA Competition License to go quicker than 9.99, full fire suit, and fire gloves. And it’s only a few MPH away from needing a parachute. (150 mph trap speed makes that a requirement)

The power number is still impressive and then the fact that it is so quick you need an NHRA Competition License to drive it. And a roll cage. And a full fire suit with gloves.

RWD. Since, you know, it pulls the front tires on launch.

Ahh yes, another chance for the US car buyers to prove that the internet is completely full of shit.

I think you meant to say the A5 convertible starts at $10k more...

I own a house and neighbors like you blow. Maybe when you own a race car, you’ll understand.

That is definitely a rental...there’s an Enterprise bar code in the window. And you know damn well he is contractually obligated to get a GM rental vehicle whereever he goes.

haha I know how it goes

Yep, Jack Beckman’s car last year nearly overnight picked up over a tenth in ET and started dominating thanks to Jimmy Prock laying the headers back. Everyone else figured out what they did and copied, with varying degrees of success.

Ashley hasn’t raced in years. She had kids instead. The second round pairing was to be with Ron Capps. Capps then lost in the semi final to Courtney Force.

On a funny car in the air like that, the body typically tears off, deploying the parachutes. The bigger question here is why the body didn’t come off. If the FC had the old single front latch, it would have come off, but they now run dual latches and it holds them on much better.

In Florida, the law is that you have to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk or about to enter. Please don’t come here and drive.

Europe uses speed cameras everywhere to go with their marked cars. What are your thoughts on importing that idea here?

Europe also has speed cameras everywhere. Would you prefer that method?

It absolutely amazes me how a site full of “car enthusiasts” has no clue about actually racing. Quarter midget racing starts at 5. Competitive go kart racing starts as low as 4. Drag racing in a Junior Dragster starts at 5. Try looking it up before you spout off with your mouth.

That’s because most customers aren’t enthusiasts. They want to be congratulated on their purchase decision, and be told by the salesman that the car they picked out online is a great choice.

Yeah, you pass a test. What if you live in Florida when you do your CDL training and haven’t actually seen a real hill? 2nd week on the road, you’re going down a mountain and find out that you’re woefully unprepared for the real world. I bet you think drivers ed teaches kids how to handle a blown tire too.

Ever think maybe it is some of these drivers’ first time down that hill? Not every truck driver on the road has been driving for 30 years. Inexperience causes many accidents in all kinds of vehicles.

Teams absolutely care about constructor points, as it directly affects their payouts at the end of the year. Sure, half or more of the fans may not know about it, but that’s to be expected, as most people watching are going to be casual fans anyway.

Between the cup holders in the dash and the two bottle holders in my door map pocket, I have 5 cup holders in the front of my truck. It’s never enough. Other stuff ends up in them, and certain tumblers fit only in certain cupholders.
