The discordant violin-like world music, the freaky ostriches and big-head dogs, bloody pools, everything looking like it needs a shot of penicillin … Caelid is that region where I limit my time to what I need to do then hightail it out.

Those crows and those large headed dogs in Caelid are creatures I don’t engage with. Aside from being very creepy. They don’t give enough runes to make fighting them worth it.

Dude OMG - the Birds!! Those big crow like birds in Caelid. Those things are terrifying - with there big over sized heads and gangly crow bodies. They freak me the hell out. We need a geoup/clan called the Middle Finger where 5 members are summoned to protect Turtle Pope as soon as he’s attacked and you can freely invade killers of the turtle pope no matter what they're doing. 

See killing the merchants makes sense. You get to centralize the merchants so you don’t have to do a run to the middle of nowhere to get certain things, and... for lore reasons.

Now its time for me to get back to hunting down all of the merchants so I can turn the Twin Maiden husk into a veritable Walmart. 

Considering in prior souls games there’s some incentive to go on a pre-NG+ murder spree to collect any unique drops before everything resets anyway, this is good stuff to test out. And also good that there’s nothing worthwhile for killing him, so you don’t have any reason to bother.

You can reset the status of many NPCs with the help of a turtle in a pope hat

The absolution will resurrect MERCHANT NPCs. It will not bring quest NPCs back to life. It will brainwash NPCs you have damaged and are hostile but will not bring quest NPCs back from the dead.
