Though if you don’t notice the ledge and do a big jump you might have a bad time and decide not to trust the ghost. Basically it “should” teach the lesson look before you leap, but not everyone tries to learn from such mistakes.

I also found in Elden Ring more than any other FromSoftware game (once you can create them) light stones are ultra useful. I use them to scout out caves and drops just like these. Has saved me from a deadly plunge more than a few times.

What doesn’t help with some of the troll messages is the sampling of bloodstains showing players falling to their deaths because they didn’t land on the outcroppings on the way down to the tutorial.
