The shutdown was meant to buy time and let us get a handle on things. It did that. Some industries are not fare well into there is a vaccine though, even if ALL restrictions were lifted. I am not anxious to go see a movie or sit in a crowded restaurant anytime soon. Nor are many people.

I also loved Heinlein’s juveniles. Maybe I started his later work too young, so that I thought Stranger was much more interesting in the first half than in the second, and I couldn’t really make sense of Time Enough for Love.  Eventually I started to dislike some of Heinlein’s characters, enough to stop reading.

I’m fine with OAN and the Nazi Times or whatever portraying antifa as some kind of shadowy organization that is plotting the destruction of America. The more they focus on the straw man, the less they focus on voters getting ready to overthrow them on November 3rd.

You left out one reason: it makes you uncomfortable. I am pretty sure that there’s a ton of people flying/wearing Confederate flags simply because it rustles the jimmies of decent human beings (or that’s their intent, anyway), and they get off on that. This is of course in addition to the other reasons listed.
