I think a contested convention would be shooting the candidate in the foot, whoever it may be. Because yes, given that Bernie conceded in 2016 (although he did threaten a contested convention repeatedly), if he won the plurality this time, and centrists contested instead of conceding, I think a lot of his supporters

Bloomberg will almost certainly not have the most delegates come convention time.

Spot on here. Everyone equates Bernie potentially winning as the equivalent of Trump surprisingly winning the republican primary way back when. Mainly the whole outsider running on a populist platform, which sure whatever. But I think the more apt comparison is if Bloomberg wins it. A billionaire with a bad history

Exactly. 2018 tweet when he was playing a progressive (his exact wording):

Fuck these pigs and anyone who believes this is honestly anywhere close to self defense. A man in fucking body armor with an assault rifle vs a child with a rock (and there might not have even been a rock). This is just disgusting.

That’s a fair point there. I would totally take frank reynolds over trump.

Thanks!

1. Not being Trump is the lowest possible bar to set. If the Dems can’t put up a better candidate then they don’t deserve my vote. Especially considering the literal dozens of better candidates they’ve had running without his problems and with better policies. If he becomes the nominee, I’ll skip the president and

a) I am not even a Bernie supporter and personally do not like the dude myself. I think he has said some dumb things in the past, and is somewhat problematic with his answers on racial issues and his 2016 campaign’s issues with sexism. That being said, we are stuck with what we got, and for progressives, that is only S

Unfortunately it’s looking more and more like this debate is going to a cage match of Biden, Buttigieg, and Bloomberg trying to slam Bernie. With maybe a sprinkle of Warren assassinating Bloomberg here and there.

But hey, maybe next he’ll be comparing his campaign offices to Underground Railroad stops. I mean, why not, right?

Except for the one RagingEsquilax so kindly pointed out in another comment that says “American deserves better”. Which is just, I mean. Come on

Yuuuuuuuup. Mayo Pete and friends are piling on too with the whole “Bernie will destroy America nonsense.

Yup, exactly. Which is what I was saying, in this is a blatant grab for votes (or to knock votes off the front runner).

Holy shit I didn’t even catch this shit. That’s fantastic.

This is what I love about it. Whoever did it just spray painted some cardboard and stuck it in a window. Bloomberg then proceed to cry about other mean candidates who are just big bullies!

That’s the thing. I’m also surprised he only blamed Bernie. I mean Warren literally committed murder on Bloomberg last debate, and is arguably the louder of the two on destroying billionaires and oligarchs and what not. He could have easily tried to pin this on her/her supporters as well. Or like you mention, the

Christian charity

“No no no, don’t break the window. We don’t want to actually break anything. Yeah, there, just spray paint that cardboard on the window. Perfect. I’ll get Bernie this time for sure!”

This is the conundrum I have been going through recently. Which poison to choose. At this point, I am just hoping that the election does not have to come to this decision.
