Unreal truck for the unreal people.

So...one guy was so terrified by his ‘ordeal’ that he went on this contraption THREE more times? One time is ignorance and misplaced trust, and can happen to anybody...three more times means he’s stupid.
Me and my friend were talking about this the other day. I go biking frequently on my older steel tube frame 10 speed. I brought up the carbon frame bikes and he said you do NOT want to ride those things because when they fail they fail BADLY. As in horror stories of seat mounts that break....
I think you draw the line by not differentiating based on who they are. You act like human life is worth saving, you expend the resources you reasonably have available while the odds are good they can be recovered, and hope for the best. It shouldn’t matter if those are scientists, migrants, or idiot rich people with…
Yeah, I would, and we should, because we’re all humans after all.
I had read that the hull had been ‘de-rated’ in 2020 from its original 4K meter depth to only 3K meter maximum depth. At 3K max, you would not come close to the Titanic for viewing. It was stated that Oceangate still performed a few trips exceeding 3K meter depth to get down to the Titanic. If this is true, it is a…
“repeated descents must have weakened the hull”
Reiss, the showrunner for The Simpsons, completed four tours with OceanGate, including one to the site of the Titanic. He said his submersible lost contact with the host ship on every dive, just as the Titan did on Sunday afternoon less than two hours into its ill-fated trip.Others echoed similar horror stories…
The Titanic not being noted for having too many original carbonfiber parts, or game controllers, in its construction.
It had made the journey a few other times, so the rating wasn’t really the issue. But the repeated descents must have weakened the hull, and this was the time it didn’t make it.
To be fair, it had successfully made the trip to the Titanic three times. Fourth time was NOT the charm though.
I know. And, I get it. But as someone who has volunteered with alpine and backcountry Search and Rescue for years, we don’t go looking for people based on moral considerations. At the end of the day, these are lost people and we go looking for them. Period.
Charles Darwin was firing up that old Chainsaw of Natural Selection...
Maybe someday we will come to our senses and not save you from danger based on financial reasons.
It is impressive they found the wreckage of such a small craft so quickly, when you think about it. From a technological and logistical point of view, this is still an impressive result.
It beer canned and tore apart right at the hour 45 minute mark. They’ve all been dead since Monday.
This is the second article this week calling the wreck the HMS Titanic. It was not a Royal Navy Ship, it belonged to the White Star Line and was correctly called the RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Titanic.
I also hate the new seats. They are bulkier than before. In a small but useful car, every inch matters
I mean I know it’s just a blog but goddamn hire a copy editor already.
