AFAIK this is part of an ongoing global recall, and Toyota isn’t the only manufacturer affected since DENSO pretty much sells stuff to everybody. As of last month Toyota was reported to be recalling at least 5.84 million cars, and Honda 1.4 million (both globally).

Yes, but you still can’t get insane acceleration numbers without also increasing range because you need to spread the load across more batteries, hence why I said the two basically come hand-in-hand.
