Colin Chapman had been dead for over a decade before they even started designing the Elise. The last cars he had a hand in was the Esprit, and perhaps an early prototype of the DeLorean.

I think Chapman would be pleased. “Simplify” was about avoiding unnecessary complexity, but I don’t think he was ever about keeping things needlessly simple or cheap.

To even have a chance at this they first have to take control of property prices at/near city centers. They make it sound as if people like being stuck in traffic commuting for an hour every day into the city, but one fact of the matter is that it’s simply too expensive for many to live in it.

They’re both M6s anyway. The current 8-series is really just a two door 5-series, which makes it a 6.
