Guys will only say that type of thing when they’re shot down and an a-hole to begin with. That or they have severe self-confidence issues due to not being loved enough growing up or whatever.

Oh, definitely. That happens for me when I play sports as an adult. For example, I throw a football around maybe once a year, if that even. But when I do, the footwork and mechanics I remember being taught as a teenager come back to me without me even realizing it. Same for basketball shooting, etc.
