I haven’t thought about this film in years. Geez!
I haven’t thought about this film in years. Geez!
I remember an interview with Mia in the 90's where she said that even after the Soon-Yi revelation, things had “improved” to a point where she and Woody had planned on making another movie together. Then the babysitter and Dylan’s accounts came out some time later.
He was in a Criminal Intent episode back in the 00's, I believe?
They’ll still get it. It’ll just be shot entirely on an iPhone from here on out.
When I was much younger, I had a similar situation with the movie Heavyweights. I repeatedly asked my mother to rent it for me and watched it to the point of knowing the movie inside and out. When they finally bought it for me over a year later, I couldn’t watch it for a few years. I was so burned out over it.
You owe me 11 years of TURBO!!!
Now I’m trying to do video game soundtracks in my head to see what genres those lean to. NBA (Live/2K) obviously leans itself towards Hip Hop. NFL (Madden) towards Pop/Rock, somewhat? FIFA is kind of all over the place, I think?
I lost my own mother not too long before I saw them live last year. I was seeing them with a good friend of mine and her teenage son (she was sitting between us). When they played this song, I heard her explaining to her son that it was written for his late mother, as I sat there watching the performance.
.... annnnnnnnd now you can count me in for that one as well.
“Onward and upward!”
I still remember my mother laughing really hard after the “his wife’s in a coma” line. With a shocked look on her face to boot!
Oh, absolutely. I think her main impression was that he was going to put on a very X-rated movie though. The concept itself was technically correct, but my friend had to explain that there was no actual, er, penetration shown on screen.
Oh man, that was probably the best one.
Omg, I forgot all about Potato Judge until I read the article posted on Vulture today...
I can’t find it online, but the sketches where he would pretend to bring up audience members and spontaneously make up songs about them on his guitar would always be a good one. Then he would throw in completely made-up “facts” about them cheating on their spouses and so forth!
I like where Conan is demanding to be paid for them stealing his bits and the lady is like, “Nope, not happening.”
Brian Stack was liking tweets about it on Twitter the other day. I told him that I still quote that sketch with my best friend constantly. One of the hardest times I’ve ever laughed at the show!
INAPPROPRIATE!!!
Probably the one sketch of Conan’s that my mother liked. She never liked him much (or his hair), but spoke the language fluently and would get a kick out of them.
I think in most things pop culture, it’s usually the “earlier” stuff that resonates more, and then somehow the later stuff almost always goes downhill afterwards in most long-term fans’ eyes. Not always, but that probably is the usual trend there.
