Are him, Nancy Travis and the rest of the cast out on the streets starving these days or something? Maybe we’re off track here somehow...

Kudos to anyone that remembers both Teen Angel and You Wish (particularly the later, which I also associate with Van Dyke even though I watched Coach in prior years).
One time, the show inspired me to ask my mother “Where’s my sperm?” That was an interesting conversation.
Good thing Doc and Marty didn’t try to go back to the alternate 2015, just as Biff was starting his Make America Great Again campaign.
When I had cable in the late 00's/early 10's (so weird to say that now), I would binge watch the Cheers reruns late at night on Hallmark if I was trying to get to sleep. It was nice to be reminded of how great the show was back in the day.
I think Comcast, or other cable and satellite providers for that matter, could actually have a lot of subscribers come back or stay on if they invested in an attractive UI system. Of course, that probably involves them spending money, so...
This might explain why I have both Weezer and some Depeche Mode under the “Alternative” label in my iTunes library.
I started using Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist when my musical discoveries were becoming a bit stagnant in recent years. Granted, you have to dig through the weeds a bit to find the gems sometimes each time you play it. But I’ve definitely found more than a few great songs on there that I never would’ve come close…
You forgot to add some asterisks and something about shaking a fist at a cloud. ;)
That’s a lot of artists too. Dave Grohl was another example of someone who claimed back in the day that the words were secondary to whatever melody was in their head. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the norm for a lot of singer or songwriters, actually.
Yeah, the lack of locations selling CDs definitely plays a role too. I’m lucky that I live in an area that has a few record stores left and a lot of second-hand book stores that sell used CDs and such. That’s often the way I’ll look for stuff as of late.
Having to work and/or maintain families probably cuts into a lot of people’s times once they reach their 20's and 30's. Lately, plain ol’ radio (everything from Hot AC to AAA stations) and Spotify’s Discover Weekly have helped keep me in the loop for new stuff out there. And, to a lesser extent, Pandora, online…
Never gets old.
For those needing further laughs, this was my follow-up with him two days later...
Someone posted a meme of that exact thing re: The Last Jedi.
I cannot upvote this enough. Even on the “fan sites,” it’s constant bitching about what they’re doing right and especially doing wrong. You’d think some musicians or show runners were the equivalent of child predators by what you read there.
First world problems, in the end. For being the third Star Wars film in three consecutive Decembers, it’s not doing that “badly,” imo.
And now just for fun, my friend’s texts about TLJ after he saw the movie… not sure on the language rules here, so I put asterisks in just in case.
That’s every fan base out there. Music, TV, film, etc. Sort of like when a band releases a lot of albums over time with certain stylings...
I like how one of the Star Wars message boards had to ban the term “Mary Sue” because people on there were using it so often.
