Right, or go with a co-worker and you split the cost of one sandwich

What I really hate is when a restaurant or store has hours on their website that are wrong (and not just holidays), and when asked about it they say “Oh we don’t keep that up to date, our Facebook page has the updated hours.”
And then there are the Dave Ramsey fans that say always use debit (or cash). Of course on the flip side, Frank Abagnale calls debit cards the worst financial tool ever given to American consumers.
At a nicer restaurant, the wait staff can make the meal even more memorable, much more so than a waiter at Denny’s. We went to a nice restaurant when we visited Chicago 4 years ago or so, and I probably would still recognize our waiter. Made for a fantastic night.
Man strap some controllers on those knives and you’d get a really interesting beat saber round.
Growing up there was a restaurant in an old firehouse, and their birthday celebration wasn’t singing, but a waiter bringing you the cake, lit with a sparkler, by sliding down the fire pole. This probably wouldn’t be allowed today, that was in the 80s.
Two in particular. In the Mathnet vein, there was an episode of 3-2-1 Contact where the Bloodhound gang investigated a haunting.
I remember an episode with Yeardley Smith (voice of Lisa on Simpsons) and a gorilla.
My big issue with sprecher is hfcs. My overall favorite is probably bulldog.
They don’t need a drivers license (don’t think you could pass the manueverability test in a horse and buggy), but you can get a DUI. You can ride a bike without a license and still be cited. Only difference is that at least for the bicycle DUI, there is no points aspect unless you have a license. Most violations don’t…
I feel the same about resort fees at hotels (which are sometimes just hotels not a true “resort”) or places that charge an additional fee for parking, like at an amusement park.
The other aspect to this is that in the past, you couldn’t necessarily take an open bottle home, so you either had to buy by the glass or get a bottle and drink it all, or leave it behind. Most states allow it now, but there probably are a few hold outs.
I was watching the rerelease of From the Earth to the Moon, and in the episode about the LEM, someone went to the manager about a miscalculation that had been used for a while in the design.
And for sysadmins, subscribe to the domain search. You have to prove ownership of the domain through a txt record or a couple of others, but very useful.
I’m hoping that’s with wind chill and not air temp...
I think you ran into this guy...
They should have asked if he grabbed the seat on his way, which acts as a floatation device.
I’m just waiting for the pearl clutchers that complain about the lack of wholesome family entertainment during the Super Bowl. They’d probably complain if the headlining half time show was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
I’d add Clint Eastwood as well, though maybe more recent stuff. The best actors disappear into their role, and not necessarily with makeup. For me it’s actors like Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Daniel Day Lewis. Those are truly great actors.
