My friend worked on a Quibi show and they had a similar backup plan, and I suspect were maybe even hoping they’d go down so they could resell the content to another streamer. But apparently they had to edit a vertical AND a horizontal version of everything, which sounds insane.
There can be valid reasons to rehome a pet, but giving one away on Twitter is like half a step above releasing them into a different neighborhood. There’s tons of orgs in LA that can do it in a way that ensures the safety of the animal.
I saw it in theaters and people were crying and sliding out of their seats during that scene. I’ve never seen that happen before or since.
It was also predicted to win last week’s box office by a large margin so there was nothing “unexpected” about that either.
They probably don’t want to remind people that regular bikes exist (and are actually a much better workout)
An exploration of this sounds like a more interesting movie than the one they made tbh...
Her Spider-Man comparison seems to imply she thinks people didn’t want the reboot because it’s a female cast, but I was wondering if it’s more that women just aren’t all that attached to the property for aforementioned reasons.

Does Chris Christie make a cameo?
I was torn on this because I feel like we’re barely allowed to look anything but young on camera as is... I get the point about career longevity, but still.
Yeah I have white guy friends in their early 40s who absolutely look older than him...
I liked the (real) Will Smith in this, and to me a huge part of the problem was that his CGI clone absolutely cannot replicate his charisma — older or younger, take your pick — so both characters have to be toned down (you could argue that the script calls for this too, but come on). It was kind of bizarre to have a…
He also seems to look a bit younger in person than in the movie, like they had to age him up with makeup at least a little.
It really felt like Ang Lee was not interested in directing any of the dialog scenes.
