Option 4: Sue VW for the full value of the vehicle (it was never road legal so the sale should be null and void), boycott all V.A.G. products, and buy a Toyota/Lexus - the most reliable cars available. The TDIs hold up terribly over time and aren’t worth any of your hard earned dollars.
