I came here exactly to re-affirm this. My son has autism. I absolutely love his brain. I wouldn’t have my amazing son any other way. I’m not convinced that he’s not superior to us neurotypicals, actually.

I had a lot of heartburn with my son. He had a full head of dark brown hair. Then, by 3 months, he lost it all. At 2 months, he looked like Robert Duvall. It later grew back blond.

This makes me downright stabby. I have a 7 year old with autism. He is brilliant, vibrant, funny, and the sweetest person I know. I don’t give a damn why he has autism. He wouldn’t be the same person without it, and I wouldn’t change him if I could.

Just came here to mention something I learned from many years of working in the juvenile justice system: here, anyway, if a person “complainant” makes report to police, it is up to the police department’s application of laws or guidelines whether or not to arrest. The kid’s mom may have simply wanted to make a report.…
