This meme always puzzled me. The Dem icon comes off looking better in that fight, with the GOPipant seemingly miffed and daunted, if you think in terms of brute-strength brinkmanship.
That works as long as your lawyers, etc. are not coerced. Maxwell is in jail, montitored, and her money frozen. If you were holding the ‘safety’ blackmail for her, it would be very profitable right now to switch allegiances, since she is surely doomed.
When you are holding a public position of trust in the highest office, you don’t have that luxury of treating your ‘friends’ differently on the public stage. His private feelings on the matter must remain that: private and separate.
Same! Houston was a gorgeous city, but the private school situation and the private medicine was an eye-opener. Like, ‘we don’t recommend public schools’, sort of thing. Where I live, our public schools are far superior to the private schools, with the latter as parochial with underperforming test scores year after…
Warren was my lady-of-good-conscience-and intelligence, too. She is too smart, too visionary to be VP, because they will side-line her no matter how persistent she remains. I like her in the Senate, asking the hard questions.
I was clumsy in my wording, and that is my fault. While there are many, many progressives, the highest percentage of them are in the younger demographics.
We have to turn at least some Trump voters to win swing states. That’s the current map.
Gen Z was responsible for 4.5 million, or 4%, of all votes. [...] in the 2020 presidential election, when they are projected to be 10% of eligible voters.
Millennials, ages 22 to 37 in 2018, cast 26.1 million votes, far higher than the number of votes they cast in 2014 (13.7 million).
Generation X, those ages 38 to 53…
I hate to “well actually,” but young voters turned out in droves for Sanders and Warren.
I was speaking facetiously to make a point and it was poorly executed if you did not see that. I apologize.
Winter is coming, and it will be a red wedding.
Heh, sorry. I should clarify.
It’s not that simple.
I think if you vote for Biden, it’s not because you are a progressive (obviously), but because you are trying to stop the whole-sale destruction of our democracy.
He will win, hopefully, and hopefully a large part of that win will be progressives making a blue tsnami and thus get a better seat at the table.
I ‘think’ the progressives need to show up, even if Biden is a side of beef with a happy face drawn on it.
I want progressives to take the reins and ride this hopefully blue-wave election with both hands. We need to protest, get voices heard, because things are fucking dire. How that going to happen? By voting.
Preach.
If I was a schlocky writer, and I needed a name for a character that was both a weaning fascist and an empty suit neo-con, I would name him:
