Okay, so let me get this straight. An episode that was clearly listed as the 3rd episode in the NBC App when they pre-released the episodes is actually the 4th episode during the normal schedule? That really makes no sense on top of the continuity issues already being pointed out in these recaps. What is actually…
The Fiddler was ISSAC Bowin (not ISRAEL bowin). Why did I have to goggle that?
Could not agree with you more. This was to me a very sour note on what I thought otherwise to be a very exciting episode.
I could not agree more with this. I totally could not follow how the ocean went from stormy to calm it what seemed like an instant. It was not even explained until the camera zoomed out and you see they are in the eye of the storm, but that does not even make sense either as they would both be quite dead once the…
I really thought this was to establish that this “seer” was legit as she clearly went from completely happy and clear-headed to channeling facts she would have had no way of knowing about Jaime and Claire. I did not see this as an unnecessary scene at all.
This IS Season 3. It is Season 4 & 5 that the show has already been picked up for.
I am certain that Fergus was with Claire and Jaime at the ball, so clearly he would have met him at that time.
They were renewed for two more seasons before this one even started, so this is clearly not the case. They were more rushing things so that Claire and Jaime could make it to the New World before next season.
This is discussed in the comments for the finale, but it is not clear what the rules are here. Geillis might be able to return to any time she wishes if her intent was to kill Brianna. Geillis went back in time in 1968 (20 years after Claire left the first time) and arrived at least 20 years prior to when Claire…
Claire did not buy the slave. Jaime bought the slave in Claire’s name in order to cover for her completely out of place and time reaction to the slave auction. Also, where did Jaime get 10 Pounds sterling from to buy this slave when he previously did not have that amount of money to cover his alimony payment?
c) I get that you are trying to imply that Arabs are non-whites (which in a sense they are as non-Europeans), but they are also to some extent non-black (in the sense that they are not entirely Africans either), so I am not certain your argument works here completely.
This is a review of the TV Show (not the books) by a reviewer commonly attacked here for not actually reading the books (which the reviewer may not have). Temeraire’s role in this episode was very minimal at best and did appear to be no more than a plot device.
Again, I question if the prophecy was supposed to be cryptic to anyone but the characters on the show (of whom only Geillis would have had any hope of understanding the prophecy anyway).
BTW, “pending” posts are more hidden then not posted. You can display them anytime.
In the 1770s, colonized=conquered (see: Colonization of America vis-a-vis Native Americans).
Was this prophecy really supposed to be cryptic to anyone other than the characters in the show? I do agree that it is entirely possible that Geillis should have known the answer to this “puzzle” (although I cannot exactly remember how much she actually knew about the relationship of Brianna to Claire or how much she…
In the 1770s, 15 or 16 was probably a full-grown adult for all intents and purposes.
So, a white person saving white people is a “white saviour” narrative now?
1) Jaime bought the slave to cover for Claire’s really completely inappropriate (for the 1770's) reaction to the slave auction. Claire had nothing to do with it except that the slave was purchased in her name
