I recently took a holiday to Prague where I was really hoping to see some Tatras in the wild. I was already aware that all the taxis there are Passats and Skoda Superbs now, so my chances of getting a ride in one were slim, but I thought I stood a decent chance of seeing some on the street. Sadly no. I saw a fair few

Renault Avantime. Because they'd make it a crossover.

Maybe not, but they were still my favorite vehicle in GTA1.

This was always my experience with the "gangs" back in my school days, their loyalty seemed to dissipate pretty quickly once you use one to demonstrate a willingness to actually have a fistfight.

I fear that if you ever have call to use it, comments like this one could come back to haunt you in court.

This is a good truck, but is it worth $13.5k? No.

I hadn't heard that. I was under the impression that the sole purpose of the new commenting system was to irritate long-time commenters and confuse new visitors to the site. As it's doing that job so well I will assume it is also doing its spam filtering job brilliantly and click on that link to find out how to make

Quite a bit of spam in the comments lately.

3/10 collectibility? I think you're really underestimating the Subaru nuts out there, if it was FWD only or a slushbox I'd say 3, but a 4WD manual with such a low mileage, 5 at the lowest.

I had an answer to this QOTD and then I saw this and realized that this is absolutely the right answer.

Tatra as a company still exist. They need to make a BMW 5-series competitor, with a rear mounted air-cooled V8, of course.

Surely the Scirocco is a valid replacement?

Depending on what the accommodation that could be a pretty good wage. If, for instance, it's decent housing for employee and family with utility bills taken care of, suddenly £23,000 starts to look pretty attractive. Of course it could be nothing of the sort and jjst a job people do for the status. Neither would

You can buy old Schat-Harding boats similar to this for a few thousand in the UK, I've met a few people who have torn out all the seats and turned them into little liveaboard boats for canal and river use.

I think you're right that this is unlikely to appeal to many based purely on cost saving alone, but I could see it helping people keep a car which they love, but is ultimately impractical for their daily needs, on the road as a daily driver, and that is definitely a good thing.

Nice explanation. This is what's great about Jalopnik.

I LOL'd. Twice.

"Oh man, I am way too high to be talking to a cop right now"

I live on a 55ft narrowboat. Not the same I know but I'm also interested in mobile living tales.
