Starred for “murderize.”
Starred for “murderize.”
Tell that to all the bozos who can’t back a boat trailer down the ramp.
As a professional truck driver I’ve been backing up trailers for decades. Then here a couple of years ago I heard my buddy who I drive with give some advice to a new-hire: “When you’re backing up a trailer, hold the steering wheel at the bottom and turn it the way you want the trailer to go.”
1. Eye contact is the only way you can be sure someone sees you.
It reminds me of Lotus Cars founder Colin Chapman’s advice on making a fast car:
I build my cars to go, not stop!
I never, ever, tailgate. I know my reaction speed is terrible. However when I was married my ex was a terrible incorrigible tailgater. Her excuse? “If I drive closer they’ll get out of my way!” She also was a “last second brake” person.
I remember my Dad telling me “Always keep both hands on the wheel, even when turning sharply. Feed the wheel with one hand through the other hand, Because that’s how racecar drivers do it. Never go hand over hand.”
What happened to her? I noticed she hadn't been around, but didn't see a reason. Just standard Kinja clusterfuck?
That is an insanely weird story, of which I am aware.
What can I say? I was young and stupid. (Also, two of them were fully not my fault. Can’t say it was my fault when I was stopped and got rear-ended. The other one is a bit questionable. The guy in front of me caused a crash with another car and I couldn’t stop in time. Was I riding too fast? Yeah. Did I cause the…
That’s an old-skool Harley attitude. The old Harley guys think front brakes are dangerous, and to put dual discs on the front is super dangerous.
I must be the odd man out here, but I think it looks ugly. Bloated and bulbous and fat in all the wrong places. It looks like a die-cast toy of a bike. You know the kind, where all the details are cast into it rather than having any actual function?
I don’t know why, but watching her calmly hand stitch a piece of replica period clothing is incredibly soothing. I don’t know if I’d ever want to know her on an interpersonal level (intensely passionate people make me itch) but her commitment to her passion and her actual talent make something that I’m only obtusely…
I even watched that episode, but completely forgot she mentioned Bridgerton.
He’s also an admitted rapist. That’s why his conviction was vacated. The previous prosecutor got him to admit it by voiding his 5th amendment rights for all future prosecutions. So he totally admitted it, which is one reason he was convicted but also why he’s free today.
I tend to agree. Cosby is a rapist, everybody now knows he’s a rapist, and his reputation is forever destroyed by that knowledge. He’s 84 years old and in questionably health. Should he spend the last years of his life in jail? Probably. Do I care if he doesn’t at this point? No. Was this a miscarriage of justice?…
I agree that it’s worthy of nomination but probably not winning. However Kathryn Hahn... She had better win.
And you’re not even going to mention Kathryn Hahn? She should win all the Emmys. Even for the roles she wasn’t in. It would have been a tragedy if she wasn’t nominated for Agatha. Every interview I watched with the other cast members, they all went out of their way to mention (rightly) she was amazing.
I can’t wait for Bernedette Banner to do a hot take on this one.
