I came looking for this post. I knew I wasn’t the only one thinking that. How do you still have a license with 30-40 speeding tickets? Avoiding getting pulled over is part of what makes a good driver haha.

Yeah I’m not in those counties haha. I pay just over $120 total to register two vehicles.
That’s good to know. Registering my 8+ year old trucks/SUVs is pretty cheap. I don’t mind the cost lol.
That’s a good point. I just consider renters to not pay property taxes because they don’t get the bill directly. Technically it’s built into your rent I guess.
The way I look at it is we have to fund education somehow. If I can afford a house then I can afford the taxes that go with it. I like that the taxes go to schools (and emergency services etc) because I want the general population around me to be as intelligent as possible. Being surrounded by morons is my worst…
They already have that in place? I don’t have an EV or hybrid, but I always hear people in WA complaining that EVs aren’t paying their fair share for road use. My neighbor mentioned the other day the state is considering a per mile tax. That seems way harder to legally track than just charging more at registration.
At this point, I think you can expect it to happen if you buy from FCA.

It’s not a bumper scratch, it’s a crack which means the whole shell has to be replaced. That’s why it was totaled. Another article I saw says the cost to repair the damages and use the same color paint total $19,000. The salvage rebuilt title lowers the value of the car so it’s not worth it for the insurance company…
Is that really a funnel around the oil cap? It looks like they just designed the cover around the cap and if you poured oil in the “funnel” it would just spill between the filler hole and the cover and get all over the engine. I like the idea of an integrated funnel though.
Haha that’s what I thought. They don’t even bother to wipe out the buildup? Lazy.
You’re definitely right. What is a throttle body service though? The only service I have ever down to one is cleaning it. There are probably YouTube videos that could show him how to do all of this in a weekend for way less than $1000, even if he starts with no tools.
That’s what I was thinking. I check for deals on new 4Runners occasionally and they almost never have special financing offers. Toyota knows they are going to sell all of them.
Cummins wouldn’t because it’s not a diesel. And a stationary generator can weigh as much as you want because it doesn’t move. A generator in a car needs to be light.
I think they are calling it a win because Democrats will like it and it’s not American workers getting unions and higher minimum wages. I’m guessing they think that raising automotive-related wages in Mexico will basically force automakers to build in the U.S. instead of sending production to Mexico for the cheap…
Shouldn’t a hybrid do equally well in stop and go and highway driving? It must be an SUV with that mileage rating so maybe that doesn’t apply to hybrid SUVs?
There’s a lot of nihilists on Jalopnik I guess.
The next Democrat administration will reverse them. But that could be 2-10 years away or more. I’m guessing automakers will err on the side of caution and keep pushing fuel economy improvement for the inevitable switch back. But waiting a decade isn’t doing ourselves any favors.
Yes everyone knows that. But we are quickly exceeding the largest temperature swings that we have evidence for from ice cores. We’re basically in uncharted territory here and in the process of a mass extinction as a result.
I only ever hear this argument from talking heads on Fox News. And their viewers eat it up like it’s Gospel.
