Yeah, the hamburger bun is the only part I’m having a hard time with here. The ricotta and jam part? Delicious. Hamburger bun? Dry and boring. A bagel or brioche roll would have been better.
No, see. This reminds me of the hullabaloo about Cynthia Nixon eating salmon on a cinnamon raisin bagel, and what people are missing is that a slightly sweet bagel against the salt of the bacon and the kick of the jalapeno is actually great.
Love you to pieces but please no Tulsi Gabbard for Secretary of Defense.
Call your members of Congress, tell them you demand a Congressional investigation of human rights abuses at these concentration camps. People keep telling me that they don’t need to call their member of Congress because they’re already liberal/progressive. Yes, you do. They need to know this is a priority, they need…
Donate to @RAICESTEXAS. Donate to the ACLU. They’re doing as much of the legal and humanitarian stuff as they possibly can.
Came here to say this. Nathan J. Robinson is a brilliant writer. He did one on Biden too that’s incredible.
The SCOTUS plan makes things worse, essentially shortening the bench to the five swing justices. Explicitly linking the other 10 seats to political parties is NOT going to help. Also if he paid attention he’d notice that justices surprise with their rulings all the time. Roberts saved Obamacare’s bacon right out of…
Also a reasonable evaluation about why you dont like a particular candidate isn’t fucking infighting. Jesus the drama
The primary is the part where you’re supposed to be infighting. The problems come when you forget to stop arguing after the primary is over.
I dont really have any patience for those who think we can’t have a reasonable discussion about candidates during a primary. We cant have all 50 of them on the ticket come election day. We gotta pick one. So let’s talk it out.

Except that those two things are completely unrelated, and me getting an abortion does not put immunocompromised people in danger.

I work in workforce development and follow a ton of workplace blogs and it’s interesting to read how different workplaces themselves are in countries that offer long parental leaves. Basically they are designed in a way where functionality is minimally effected by long absences of an individual. Many people from these…
It boggles my mind that maternity leave in the US is so short. I am Canadian and where I work, my firm even tops up the parent’s salary who is on leave for a year. I’m also an old childless crone, but you know what? I don’t begrudge young families these benefits. These are things that are long overdue.

If you’re going to make rules to mandate this, stop making so many exceptions to avoid doing it. Employers are getting really cute avoiding these rules, by keeping the headcount below the minimum level, or making full-time employees into part-time, or by laying off staff before they qualify, or by classifying…
the scary thing here is that in the american context 3 months mat leave is considered generous.
