Popular Science, while not as cool as Lifehacker, published a series of articles called the Hackentosh Diaries a few days ago. I thought it was pretty in depth. You may want to look into that as well.

I'm quite fond of Evernote, I think it offers more than Onenote. The only reason to go with Onenote (IMO) is if you are in love with the interface.

Oh sorry, I meant maximized, not fullscreen.

It autohides when a window is full screen, very annoying... I just upgraded and I can't seem to figure out how to change this feature. Oh well, thanks a bunch!

Is there any way to keep the new Ubuntu Unity taskbar visible at all times, or even move it around for that matter? Screen space is not an issue for me, and I have always preferred a more concrete desktop.

If you are using Windows, EASEUS Partition Master may be worth looking into. It will be able to partition off your drive without losing any data.

@ImmaLion: Belvedere works well if you are using Windows, I am not sure if it meets all of your needs, but it may be worth looking into.

Google Doc Mount worked for 10.04, the creator seems to be done with it, but it may be worth looking into if you know a thing or two about coding.

Thanks, it's about time I finally got around to partitioning off my HD anyway.

Lately, I have tried to upgrade my Ubuntu install. I've been running 10.04 for a while now, but really would like to upgrade to the newest version. I have tried several times, but every time, the installation fails. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 in Wubi, does this change anything?

@Jonathan: I have found that recently the "Classic View" has disappeared and my current work around for this is to use Atomic Web Browser. You can set it to display pages as if you were using a desktop client.

It was just a suggestion, ivi.tv is a good idea though. Maybe a more legitimate looking company will take the idea and go with it.

With the Boxee, you can stream many free video sources, Youtube, Vimeo, CNN, etc. However you do not get Hulu as of today. They are working on that however. Boxee Case

As far as news goes, look into an antenna for local channels, we are able to pickup almost all at my house.

I was considering buying a Boxee Box, was there anything else you didn't particularly like?

Gnome-Do and Grsync definitely make the list!

I head to China every few years and I have found the best way to survive the plane ride is to bring a variety of things to do. Bring maybe a book, a neck pillow, and a game. This way you can have a choice. Many times I get on the plane thinking I will sleep, but when I get on, can't. Not having something else to

Very nice, I've got mine in March. Goodluck!

Sounds fun, what are you playing?

Hey Everyone!
