Sure it was, but it was still a full-fledged site. Websites are like any other type of business. Even small ones are still actual businesses. There’s not a minimum threshold to hit before you become “full-fledged.”

You’re either misremembering time or conflating two different sites. Nate was still mostly focused on “Moneyball” style baseball stats in the early-to-mid 00's. He didn’t start writing about politics on a regular basis until 2007, which was when he began writing on Daily Kos.
