Any man who describes a woman as having "great morals" sets off my asshole radar.

RE: Joyce Carol Oates. I hate this kind of bullshit 7th grade equation.
Hannah's parents paid for her apartment and cost of living too, until she was, what, 24? They cut her off in the first episode of the show.
As much as I hate Fifty Shades, this fool was bound to attack someone sooner or later. He's old enough to be accountable.
I know I'm naive and I can be extraordinarily pollyanna sometimes, but I just don't believe that he got this from the film (or the books). I legit don't believe anyone is that stupid or that easy to influence. He probably said it was because of FS0G because he thought it would help him get off or get a lighter…
I know everyone here hates 50 shades, but this guy clearly has issues and likely would have assaulted someone with/without this idea. The impetus could have just as easily been Game of Thrones.
Yes, for many it probably is. It's just so rarely depicted "normally" in film or on TV as such because no network exec wants the accompanying shitstorm of "we're boycotting your show you cavalier baby killers!" They need to have hand wringing, conflicted emotions, etc.—all the trappings of "a very special episode."
There's a difference between being cavalier and being informed - knowing how much something would cost you does not make you careless. (If anything, the opposite is true.)
I would really, really like to see a show cover abortion in an even more chill way. It's great that the girl is fine with it and didn't get upset, and it's awesome that they seem to have made it very clear that it was her choice and her's alone. But it really irks me that when shows cover abortion they always seem to…
If Mimi-Rose has good health insurance (which, if she's less than 26, she could still be on her parent's plan), her abortion could have been super cheap. An abortion would cost me $20.
If she can afford to live in a swanky loft space (by whatever means), $350-$500 for an abortion is probably not a big deal to her. Thus, not a discussion point?
SOOO MUCH IS GOING ON
A universal truth: teenagers are so fucking stupid.
Was anyone else one of those uber-sensitive kids who ascribed feelings to their toys and stuffed animals? I used to play with all of my toys on a rotation because I was afraid of hurting their feelings. I kind of did that with my clothes too - I would feel guilty if I didn't wear my red shirt for a while because I was…
Moms who get all creepy possessive over their sons is just fucking weird and strikes me as some reverse Oedipus complex where the Mom isn't getting enough romantic attention from the kid's father/her husband/or other romantic partner so is trying to get it from her kid. This Mom is like metaphorically pissing all over…
My older sister is like that - every new guy is awesome and totally The One, and then a few months/years later the guy turned out to be abusive and generally horrible person. My sister does have borderline personality disorder, so this very stark black/white thinking makes sense. I'm kind of glad we mostly communicate…
There was this guy today at the cafe, where we were the only two people in the room, and he kept on staring at me, while I was eating, doing homework, and using the phone. And as I was using Tinder, I saw his profile, it was quite racially charged and full of fetishization (think confederate flags, Yellow Fever,…
Being an expat in Lebanon has its challenges, especially when you're pale, blonde and built like a boy. Bras rarely…
