Oh, I totally agree that they are making a choice. But I think most people see it as avoiding choosing sides and don't recognize that as affirming that someone can be an asshole without consequence.

Supposedly the Armed Forces were into testing for LSD but stopped after only catching a couple of people.

The people I know who are really serious about training because they compete, are total light weights because they don't drink while in training and their tolerance for booze goes down. I mean, one beer and they are done.

I think it does still exist.

There's a urine test for LSD but it's rarely used due to expense: http://www.norchemlab.com/wp-content/upl…. Anyway, if the patients test positive for meth and/or coke and then say they are hallucinating, I could see how a nurse or doctor might think the patient also ingested LSD.

I love medical books. Fascinating and revolting at the same time!

That is a horrific story.

Yeah, I mean in California Ecstasy and MDMA were the same thing - some "brands" were purer than others. But as I understood it, nothing was ever totally pure because if you wanted in a tablet it had to be cut with something. "Molly" is a brand new term.

Yeah, SF was always flush with Acid. Shrooms were a little pricey due to availability.

Well, it was a bulk purchase. $0.75 per hit was what it worked out to be when all was said and done.

I think it was 1999 (maybe 2000). And it was really good acid, too! It came on what felt like watercolor paper and just had a very simple grid drawn on with pencil. Each hit was about one .25" squared.

I once got it for 75 cents a hit. I can't believe (I mean I CAN) how much it's gone up in price. But if the wiki article that another person posted in this thread about Pickard is true, it makes sense.

There was a 60 Minutes piece about the founder around 10 years ago. If you can find it, I suggest you watch it. It caused him a lot of problems but there were advocates for it for public health reasons.

They might have done a drug test on a couple of the patients but that only shows what's in their systems and they could have ingested multiple substances in different ways at the festival.

Makes sense. Especially, with the rise in Meth production, I can see how the pills are likely mostly binders and meth and not much MDMA now.

I wonder if they ever figured out who "Petaluma Al" was?

In the 90s there was a non-profit called Dance Safe that went to shows/raves and tested peoples' drugs for free (probably with a very similar kit) in order to try to prevent overdoses and harmful interactions.

Shit. Obviously, I haven't sought it out in a very long time. Who was the dude that got busted?

This is how I remember it in the 90s. Meth and MDMA = Ecstasy. People used to talk about which E was "speedy" and which wasn't.
