Yes, it is. Seatbelt interlocks are to save those people who are too stubborn and/or dumb to be bothered to fasten their seat belts while driving. I should not have to pay extra for a technology that will force me to fasten my seatbelts in every circumstance, and conceivably disable my car in the event that it fails…

This is NOT a safety feature for anyone who already always buckles their seatbelt. It’s an active annoyance. Yeah, let’s get 0.5% more drivers buckling their seat belt, and annoy the fuck out of 90% of drivers. Brilliant!

I’m guessing the difference in cost between what they’ll spend for the ‘22 and how much they can make off the ‘21 is less than they would have spent in nation-wide advertising which is essentially what this is now.

The point is that someone other than the owner did this without permission from said owner. This was a dick move from the tech (and stupid that they didn’t know about the PDR).

Eh Fast and furious hasn’t been in the street race scene in a long time. it’s no real different to a James bond car chase now. At least even then, they showed people blocking off streets and walkie talkies before the race starts. But these people can’t turn it off, they have to be at 100% all the time and your life…

Strike the first sentence and I agree 100%. Movies are not to blame for behavior so much as a historical lack of having to pay for one’s own actions.
