“HDMI Device Link” is Sony’s branding for HDMI-CEC, which your display needs to both support and have enabled for devices to be able to take advantage of it. It’s been around for ages, but it’s a flaky standard with even flakier adoption, so it’s mostly just used for changing the volume on your home theater with your

This.

While the Class 4 roads are public roads, the town doesn’t want to deal with off-roaders and any potential shenanigans and damage.

So much this, AND (sorry Luke) it was actually covered already:

Sorry Luke, I don’t agree with you. Settings like this look ridiculous on the surface but make more sense if you look at it from a “not a straight white guy” perspective. Yes hate speech needs to be confronted at every turn, but some non-white people use the n-word in non-racist ways. Some fat people (myself included)

I know mental health episode seems likely... but how does someone with mental health issues get a gun? I thought there was proper screening and background checks.

Just shoot the futures grandmothers a text message. Unceremoniously.

I really can’t believe how unbelievably stupid these have gotten (and mostly were from the beginning). People trying to one up strangers on the internet for quite literally pointless likes/hearts/stars.

Except that’s not what’s happening here.

It’s his math, not mine! I’m a reporter, not an accountant, and I do not trust myself to know his finances better than he does. That said, I do intend to interview him after this is all over, and I will absolutely press him on the real total, because I have a feeling that no matter what, it will differ pretty

I watched the first 3 turns then thought the video was done with a few seconds left.

Agreed here, the click-baity title aside (nerve-wracking would have been a better choice instead of terrifying) I think this is what we want to see in our early stage auto-piloting footage, cautious leaning towards confident.

“seriously terrifying", “bursts of traffic” , “dicey” , “it just goes”.......I’m so scared of the Robot Overlords

This is the correct take and the reasoning I follow.

It’s situational. Going to get groceries? Pull in forward. Parking in a lot with less traffic? Back in. With the proliferation of back up cameras, especially the ones that curve the limit lines when you turn the wheel, it should only take one try. If you can’t back into a spot in one try, go over to an empty parking

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Why not just take the mileage off from the annual inspections? They record all that stuff for the safety inspections. And for the states that don’t do them - make them start. Bonus for getting more unsafe vehicles off the road

God forbid we use weight and fuel economy to tax commensurately with a vehicle’s damage to infrastructure and the environment. I, for one, am grateful that the government is finding ways to essentially subsidize my coworkers continuing to commute in their FERD 3500 MASCULINITYWAGONS.

I would feel a lot better about this if they made vehicle weight a factor as well. If we are going to get into the nitty gritty of taxing people based on how much they use the road, then it should account for the exponential increase in wear applied by heavier vehicles.

Why? If we want to have speed limits, we need some mechanism to enforce them, or they won’t be followed. So why not have fair and objective enforcement (with reasonable and proportional penalties)?
