I’m wondering why you suggest working from the bottom up. I do the opposite. My logic is that this way the water and soap are moving in the same direction I’m washing, down. Also, the “bottom” parts; wheels, engine, chain area, etc., are dirtier than the rest of the bike and should be done last to avoid contaminating
