Are HOA boards elected? I belive they are but i live in an area without them. If they are then partcipation is the issue, not the vesting of power in an organization. Pay attention to who is running, run yourself, CIVIC PARTCIPATION. It’s not like they are some unaccountable corperation.

All of the people saying you don’t need HOAs look at XYZ, where I am. Are wholly unaware that they live in areas with solid municipal government structures (relatively speaking).

Proud resident of Melrose here, and far be it from me to defend HOAs but I don’t think that’s a fair statement for a few reasons.
