This was a 1997 concept car, yet we didn’t get the Mk4 Jetta until late 1999. Mk3 Jettas were being sold as 1999 model year vehicles, with the Mk4 listed as a 1999.5 when it hit dealers later in the year. Is Volkswagen unique with their extremely long delay between releasing the vehicle domestically vs abroad?
