IWait... maybe this is a memory from another timeline, but i thought KT left io9 some time ago, which I assumed was from a desire to never see another episode of Discovery ever again.

I wish Katharine would stop toying with my emotions and actually rage quit the show.

It sounds dreadful because the review is so full of unbalanced vitriol that it couldn’t sound otherwise. You should check Discovery out for yourself, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Is it perfect - no, but it’s certainly not the trainwreck that io9 makes it out to be week in, and week out.

Honestly, Katharine Trendacosta needs to stop reviewing this show. The emotional outbursts are biased and not remotely in the form of a review. Maybe someone that actually enjoys television? Someone that does not throw a temper tantrum when a show does not go the way they want would nice. This is the best Star Trek

It’s truly obnoxious.

Katharine, if you’re so tired, take a nap and hand these reviews off to someone more stable. You sound like a lunatic.

Seriously, I was so happy when Trendacosta announced her departure from io9, as someone who hated the show from the outset would not be reviewing it any more. Why was she allowed to continue?

Wait, you’re mad because they lied to hide a plot twist? In today’s era where it’s impossible to keep anything secret, I’m happy they lied. I agree that the double reveal is a bit much, but we knew all along who Tyler really was. They were consistent with Lorca. It makes sense that he’s from the mirror universe.

Did Fusion get bought by FOX? If not, STOP WITH THE VIDEO CONTENT BULLSHIT! No one wants to sit through a fucking video. ENOUGH ALREADY!

Least y’all could do is include a transcript. Stop with the videos and the podcasts and the blah blah blah. Just give me something to read, dangit. Reading trumps all the rest as far as I’m concerned. We aren’t a completely illiterate society. Yet.

Beth...I enjoy your writing. Generally informative, efficient and on the point.

You know what site you’re on, right?

OK, minority opinion time: Logan was trash and belongs on no one’s top 10 list.

They probably wish it was just like one of those boring-ass EU novels from the ‘90s.

Yes! To quote a bald guy, Make it so!

Fans pre-Dec. 15:

I think he was telling the truth actually, mostly because if the last scene. The peasant boy is a nobody, who force pulls the broom to him and pretends it’s a lightsaber. The next generation of Jedi are nobodies.

I agree with much of what you say, but I really really liked that Rey’s parents were nobodies. It means the Force is more democratic, and isn’t purely a blue-blood royalty hereditary sort of thing. It’s time to move beyond the Skywalker family, perhaps

Funnily enough, I loved this movie for the exact same reasons you hated it, my dude
