I think you mean “little a seltzer, as a treat.” ;)

Fair enough. It all just seemed lumped together in the piece though and I really do think it’s a bit of a different animal. Like, I would never pay $200/month (or likely even $60/month) for this care, but I have found that it is legitimately money-saving since I don’t need many/any urgent care co-pays (the one I have

I think it’s pretty disingenuous to place One Medical on the same tier as services which charge 10x as much or more. $200/year is simply not the same as $200/month. I have multiple complex chronic conditions and I use OM — they’re the best PCPs I’ve ever seen and they actually keep track of my conditions. Is it fucked

I think marriage counseling is in order here. And parenting classes. That is total, total bullshit on your wife’s part — and I have bipolar disorder and anxiety issues which also tend to manifest as anger, so I am speaking with experience from the other side. She HAS to learn to manage herself. That is so completely

Oh wow, what a trip down memory lane! Feministing, Feministe, Jezebel, bfp, FWD (especially FWD), Tiger Beatdown, Shakesville, The Hairpin were all places where I tested and ultimately figured out my own particular feminist identity. I can think of a bunch of other, smaller blogs as well that I read, including some in

IDK, I’m pretty “crazy” in the medical sense, but it doesn’t cause me to be racist as hell at people.

OMG, I love Cooking for Two. I’m making the chicken/orzo with spinach/feta tonight for the zillionth time.

[slow clap] nice to see the most useful DCist item in the wild!

Regarding point 1 — which funding vote are you referring to? Because the FY19 defense funding bill was coupled by leadership with the FY19 Labor-HHS-Education funding bill which provided significant increases for many important domestic non-defense programs. Would you prefer that she voted against that? And the

I love it when the pedants come out of the woodwork on a post like this. There’s even a comment below that starts with “Well, actually...” which is basically the most clichéd of all pedantic comment openers. Just amazing.

HAHAHA at first read I thought you said “whilst crying” and I was like, “oh, me too, my husband always gets so embarrassed with me at their concerts!” But that is not at all what you said.

That is a totally fair statement that I agree with. Thank you for saying that.

I also don’t think I’m that big. But, as Anne said, I’ve never lost someone to gun violence or state violence, so I ultimately can’t really know what I would need in that situation. I feel deeply for him and the rest of the family though.

Amen. I think Hudson was the logical choice here. He’s closed excellently for the past month.

My only regret is that on whole we’ve never convinced his political opponents to accept the same standard of misconduct for resignation.

One piece of anecdata — I have never used “grade x,” only “xth grade.” I’m from the southern US. It might be a regional difference within the US though.

Truth. I could totally see “oxy pie” happening, actually.

I think the point about “fentanyl cake” is probably the best way to explain this to people. Like, if you wouldn’t joke about a “heroin pie” or an “oxy pie”...

For me, the issue is that bartenders often can’t see me behind tall people, particularly tall people hanging around the bar. I wouldn’t shove in front of a tall person who was waiting to order, but I have no qualms about edging in when people clearly have drinks in hand.

Wow, I hit a nerve! That is the longest comment I have ever seen in defense of the outer Virginia suburbs on Kinja. I hope you know I was kidding about the napalm, as I’m sure MMPFJW was?
