I was raised Lutheran and went to a Jesuit university (Hoya Saxa!) — we had the “Jes res” on campus and I had several Jesuit priests as professors. All of that is to say that I went way further left because of college as well because the values that were instilled from the Jesuit tradition are very... socialist. :)

THANK YOU. I will now go back and read the article, but dang.

As a Virginia resident, I’m curious -- will you be interviewing Jennifer Carroll Foy as well at some point? I’m very interested in supporting one of these women and would love to hear about the differences in their platforms.

Oh, I am not trying to get off ALL my meds! I just have some that are a little duplicative (example, multiple anti-depressants) or unknown safety (example, my injectable migraine med that just came out a year ago - and OF COURSE takes SIX MONTHS to leave the body entirely). My psychiatrist doesn’t think I’m on much

Yeah, are we sure “Micaela” is a person?

I appreciate this pep talk. Thank you.

I feel for you so much. As a fellow bipolar depression/severe anxiety survivor, I can tell you, it’s not too much easier on the slightly younger end. I’m married and 33, wanting to try to get pregnant mid-next year (so well into 34), but I was supposed to be weaning off some of my heavier bipolar/anxiety/migraine meds

It’s a Dungeons and Dragons roleplayer (Ken Jeong) who is dressed as a “Drow,” screenshot below. The scene lampshades it by having an actually black character (Yvette Nicole Brown) ask, “So are we just going to ignore that hate crime over there?” and then Jeong’s character explains.

Having said that, regardless of whether I believe there’s much or any nuance here, I think that if folks “come” for Harmon or Jeong based on this, I think it’s unlikely there will be much or any consideration given to the possibility that they acted in good faith.

I would imagine they are. I kinda cringed at that part of the episode when it first aired! It’s a shame they tainted that ep with that because it’s otherwise one of my favorites.

HAHAHA oh man that explains so much about my lack of dance skills. 2001-2005, yo.

You know, at first I was mad about Dakota Johnson’s comments, but now I’m not so much on further reflection. I am bipolar, tend toward the depressive end, and I think it’s really helped my empathy. Part of that is growing up (I was 20 at diagnosis) but part of that is becoming part of a pretty marginalized group. It’s

I feel you re: grays — I was out and then for no apparent reason I have been re-grayed recently. No shitty comments, nothing like that, just grayed. What gives?

This is one of my favorite rom-coms! I loved it when it came out and I actually own it on DVD.

It’s so funny because they’re CATS, you know? Like we did not expect it. But I think it’s because their routine has been completely messed up too; normally they sleep all day, so they’re like cranky furry toddlers wandering around causing chaos because they’re exhausted and need a nap.

I have no kids (yet) — my husband and I have two cats. However, the cats alone have been so needy and clingy and whiny that I cannot even imagine having children right now. My hat is off to all of you parents -- you’re doing GREAT. Thank you.

Yeah, my (clinical, medicated) anxiety has been through the roof. Even my husband is anxious and he’s the most chill, un-anxious person I know.

Donate to your local Meals on Wheels! Many seniors are now having to switch from senior center meals (centers are closing!) to home-delivered meals, “grab and go,” shelf-stable food, etc. which is a lot more expensive for these programs. Volunteer to drop off food if you’re healthy.

Thank you! I was coming here to comment on that as well.

But seriously, this is good info! I thought about buying Seedlip. I shall stick to a few shakes of bitters when I’m feeling low-alcohol-y.
