I’ve considered it for when I get tired of working in federal policy. My husband’s current job has an outpost in Richmond, so it’s doable.

Actually, I’ve lived in the DC area since 2005. Eight years of that was in the District proper. Try again, ass.

Thank you! All I ever get from 270 is a feeling of death.

Probably this is why I am in the grays, but I really like living in Arlington! All the convenience of living in the city but with actual parking. But the rest of NoVA, particularly Loudoun County/outer Fairfax, not so much, proceed with napalm.

OKAY, that changes my answer a bit and I’m sorry for being flippant. That loss of autonomy has to be really frustrating for her and I’m guessing this is partially a control thing, because everyone needs to have control over something. I think you two should consider talking to a dietitian together about what food she

I mean, WILL she starve? Or will she figure it out? Can you have an easy backup, say, PBJ ingredients or cereal or buttered pasta or something, and if she doesn’t like what’s on offer, she gets that? If she’s going to act like a child, she gets fed like one.

Oh, totally agree! Just wanted to make the point that saying “for a tennis game?!” is really disingenuous. It wasn’t just any game.

It’s not like she was flying over for some backyard match or something...

Yesssss same here. I am so fucking glad I turned the TV back on right before Suzuki went up to bat.

Are we really going to blindly believe Big Ranch on this?

The only thing worse than a PSL is a PSL on ice.

It is currently 88 degrees and climbing here in DC. This is total bullshit. I demand to speak to an attorney.

I had one last weekend! Without being told that’s what I was getting, so it was really disconcerting to find in the package. It’s okay? I prefer the original. Too many flavors with the blueberry.

That all sounds devastatingly familiar! Also, I was talking to a big firm partner from south Florida and he said that they’ve permanently reduced the size of the summer associate classes at his firm—they’ve never gone back to pre-recession levels.

YEP, can confirm, also a 2012 graduate. From a T-14. Who got a job paying $48k to start because it was the only option I had. Unless you were top 10 percent and on main law review, you did not get a fancy job at a big firm.

I agree that we shouldn’t minimize that there are autistic people who aren’t as high-functioning. However, I don’t think the “other side” (which means what exactly, high-functioning autistic people and their allies?) is doing that by telling their personal stories about how autism really doesn’t suck that badly for

YEP. The problem is definitely in practice. I work in a very small field as a lobbyist and lobby exclusively on behalf of non-profits in my field. Do I have as much influence as Big Pharma or Big [x]? NOPE. Do I get PAID as much as they do? Also nope. But I feel like the “little guys” have to have a voice somewhere,

That first point is definitely true in my anecdotal experience.

OMG seriously. I’ve not been to Nicaragua, but Costa Rica is gorgeous and very fascinating.

I hope you can too! I went two years ago on a cruise and had a fantastic time. This is such crap.
