I don't see it as being weaker...metal bending is just another type of earth bending it's cool but not better ..just different. I like that in the last ep he beat the metal bender by (accident) using that fragment of earth to knock him over.

I don't really want him to learn Metal Bending, I dunno it would just make things a little too perfect. I like their to be some blemishes in the group.. not everyone is perfect

no you do not get it it's not that it is basic it is probably very hard for an earth bender to do. just because you might see it as a basic thing just because water benders can do it doesn't mean that it isn't going to be tremendously difficult for someone else to do

I just remembered something Water Bending and Earth bending are totally different in every aspect. From stance, form and especially to the very mind set of the user.
