One of the few consistent compliments I’ve seen in forums and discussions critical of S8 was that Clarke probably put out her best performance yet, despite any issues with the script. Actually I don’t think I’ve seen any of the actors slammed. All the hate seems directed exclusively at the writing.

I think they’re definitely going to give us a steady stream of Alien movies forever. I think splitting them into horror and bug hunts is a good way to do it, but I don’t think Ridley was wrong to add the Engineers and the black goo.

I saw some of the sexist “fans” on Twitter decrying that the twist with Mar-vell means no Teddy. We could still get him, Mar-vell could just be his mom instead of his dad. Easy.

That’s funny because I really liked the first act. That more grounded space opera-iness is something the MCU has been lacking. It also sets up the guilt Carol later feels when she learns the truth.
