This may have been posted in jest, but seriously, fly corporate whenever possible.

Did you just “man-splain” me? ;)

Thank you, for being the only sane person that I’ve heard talking on this topic.

As a heterosexual man, I honestly have no idea what half of the terms you used mean.

Acutally, worrying about the physical location of my password data is mandatory, enforced by my employer.

Personally, I prefer truly random passwords stored in a vault, and that vault is also secured by a randomly generated password (stored in a file).

+1 for keepass.

I get where you’re coming from, honestly, I do. But seriously, there’s a line in the sand.

Software developer & ex “family IT support guy” here.

If my criminal case had gone to court, my lawyers advice was to mentally prepare myself for a long time behind bars.

While not a bereavement, I have had to endure a situation where fighting, mentally & emotionally, was the only option.

The single most defining moment of my life, was that I was falsely accused of a crime. This was a crime where the claimant had no proof (and equally, I had no proof it did not occur), but I was keenly aware that simply their statement on the stand could carry a sentence over a decade. I was subsequently arrested,

I’d like to take the opportunity to not have our discussion devolve into a pissing match.

How many log.debug(plaintext_password) statements do you have sitting in your code?

Just tried to enrol in the beta program (6P owner and been enrolled in the program before).

See, now you’re entering a philosophical debate. :)

If you read the same email from Twitter that I read, it did accurately describe the problem (they say that passwords were written in plain-text to a log file).

Developer here... I think Mr Bolton’s analysis is clearly wrong.

No, I was disagreeing with your stated preference for double spacing, keeping the discussion on the topic of the post.

I’m also a developer & spend much of my time on CLI and also use Vi.
