Being fully post menopausal really helps!
Really? Or are you kidding around?
Work keeps us connected to the world. We olds also have a certain perspective that I think young people do appreciate, even if we do lecture a bit too much.
I knew when I wrote this that the cool kids would scoff. I'll survive.
I am over 50 and expect to work 20 more years. The sunniness I feel comes from acceptance of who I am, not an expectation of ease or leisure.
Don't you find that moron bosses come and go, but we reliable, middle aged ladies just plug along, surviving it all?
My husband and I have been married 30 years. We are doing better than ever. We get that life really is too short to be angry or miserable.
So true!! I think especially for women, who seem to grow in self confidence, even as we become invisible to most men. That may seem sad, but it is not! It is freeing and glorious! The best is yet to come, I swear!
I stated my opinion. I realize people will disagree. I'm fine with that.
I'm not worried about the kids in the video in terms of meth. I do worry that the whole thing is about getting on YouTube at all costs.
I love Breaking Bad. It may be the best show on TV. I realize that I may seem hopelessly uncool by saying the following, but here goes:

I have taught thousands of college writing students. Maybe 10 students, in 15 years, have argued for a better grade.
Every writing program in my state at the university level is based on ideas and argument and the use of evidence. I know, because we have statewide conferences.
I would like to star this comment 10 times.
Struck and White is the WORST thing to happen to American writing, ever. It has ruined generations of student writing.
Students are expected to know the rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation when they arrive at college. My students have the good grace to accept that truth, even when they mess up. That is part of why they are a joy to teach,
I teach at a very non-elite university. My students tend to be overwhelmingly working class. When I go over things like "there/their/they're," they always know the right answers. They do not tend to try to justify it when the get in wrong on papers, either.
Everywhere. We truly cannot afford it. Plus, people in the countries where we have bases tend to not want us there. I understand that. I probably wouldn't like it either.
