It is a bit perplexing he keeps getting all of these opportunities… Then again, these movies were kind of made for him… And no one would be able to make them palatable.

Saw this truly heinous Charles Manson film a few months ago called WOLVES AT THE DOOR… Very limited release for very obvious reasons. I'm pretty sure I was the only person in the audience who wasn't somehow connected to the film cast/crew. Everything about the movie felt off, but Katie Cassidy's hairstyles/outfits

I'd give it a C because it's fun but kind of a mess and a bit too much of a retread/fanservice for my liking. Which is to say I enjoyed it but don't think it's a good film.

I can't believe I haven't listened to the new Teenage Fanclub album yet!

LOVE that A Giant Dog record. I miss Austin.

My grandma didn't think so. But then again, I still can't believe my parents thought it'd be a good idea to take my grandma to see it!

Right? Ughhhh.

Yup, I love 2D animation, and this CGI stuff has me refraining from watching animated movies these days.

I still think MIB/William is bad writing. It hinges on hiring actors who don't look alike to keep it secret, which feels a bit cheap.

IDK, I'm really not a fan of the Nolan brothers and their storytelling techniques at all (I usually find their stuff a bit cheap). So this probably wasn't a good show for me, although I enjoyed it a fair bit. I liked each episode, but don't think they quite added up into a good show.

I think it's because the episodes are compelling separately, but the ultimate story is not as satisfying or well-conceived.

Yeah, re: #3, that sounds rather difficult?

The only reason you wouldn't figure it out is because they hired two different actors who don't look alike. I find that to be hacky and cheap.

YES. THANK YOU! I am so weirded out by people who hail the Nolan brothers as genius storytellers, or acting like if I don't like their movies and TV shows I must not "get it." This show was interesting at first, but it became a really annoying circle-jerk on the part of the writers who thought they were being more

I disagree. I enjoyed Westworld, and I "understood" it, but I don't think it's as smart or great as IT thinks it is.

Right? I hated that "twist." But that's pretty Nolan-y. I remember hating Inception and thinking, "Who would fall for all of this faux-philosophical B.S.?" But apparently it was rather popular with a certain subset of people.

Apparently a lot of people.

SAME! That and Enlightened, which also got cancelled after Season 2.

I just hope HBO doesn't cancel it after Season 2, a la my other favorite under-the-radar HBO shows Enlightened + Looking. :(

That's the perfect comparison for me! I also felt like it was very Nolan-esque: Not as smart as it thought it was, but interesting in places.
