SO agree. Felt like the script was a total mess and the dialogue pretty hokey in patches.

HAHA same. Except it was a bit funny… My prof was always like, "Archaeology isn't like Indiana Jones" but was always talking about Indiana Jones and all the Hollywood movies he was an archaeology consultant on. So…
I mostly felt it was cheesy… That hokey line near the end had me nearly fall out of my seat laughing. Felt the science was also pretty flimsy. But appreciated some of the inventive ideas put forth.
I would always feel kind of grumpy about it. But your point is still a good one in regard to this type of show.
I agree… The Nolans love jerking viewers around, and it is getting a bit tiresome. Constantly threading the loop on a new mystery seems to sometimes be a cover for lack of character development/all sorts of other issues.
SAME. So annoying. SO NOLAN-Y.
Oh, I definitely think Ford was involved in Arnold's death. Definitely.
I just hate that William is going to turn out to be the Man in Black… It feels so cheap. The actors don't even LOOK ALIKE. I like a lot of things about this show, but some of these "twists" feel too Nolan-esque for me.
Yeah, I worked in newsrooms in college and for four years afterward. Shit was pretty dire… Constant layoffs, buyouts, closures, consolidations, upper management obsessed with courting millennials with really bad apps… RUN.
YES. Also, half my family is very Gilmore-esque, and they really nailed the old-money lifestyle/expectations. Yeeeeeesh.
Right? Lots of rich white kids… People of color cast as housekeepers and line cooks. I like this show (and am white myself), but that has always disappointed me.
Marry Logan??? Nooooo.
I definitely agree, BUT I still think they made the character uglier/nastier than she had to be, in terms of the cheating gag. Ick.
And three we will NEVER SPEAK OF AGAIN.
YES! So bizarre… Why would the writers think fat jokes would amuse us? So mean-spirited and odd.
Agreed. The body-shaming was so weird, and it's also uncool that the only non-white actors are playing hired help.
Hmmm, I felt the third actor didn't match up to the first two; that was the most jarring gap for me (but it was one I could easily overlook).
YES! My boyfriend is American but comes from a Salvadoran family, and he has multiple family members suffering from what I'm pretty sure are big-time undiagnosed mental illnesses because therapy and psychiatrists are just out of the question. (And forget about more common things like depression and anxiety being taken…
He really has a way of making these movies about regular people that just kill me. He handles drama/melodrama really well.
God, Ben Affleck's directorial efforts all feel so self-centered… He's always casting himself in these roles that are so over the top/heroic/etc. (That being said, I loved Gone Baby Gone, but can't stand much he's done since then.)
