Yeah, I had the album (I made my mom buy it for me at COSTCO!!!!), and I remember liking it at the time. A few songs were good (or seemed to be when I was in seventh or eighth grade), but it's weird that Avril was still holding onto that look years later.

I really, really love their first album, but I don't think I could ever go see 'em without Doug Hopkins. That's a band that really should have broken up years ago, or at least reformed as something else.

Duuuude, I was SO into Rooney back in the day. I remember being on the message boards all the time, making my dad take me to a record store to buy their first album when it finally came out. (Since I was like, 14, and I couldn't drive.)

This season really has been WAY better. Good review, spot on. I can't believe I'm actually enjoying "Workaholics" again!

CancerAIDS at least seems to have vanished. Maybe since that Firsties epidemic of 2005 waned.

Yeah, I mean, do I like condoms? Not that much. But do I like the idea of being pregnant? HELL NAW. That girl sounds like the stupidest.

Jennifer Lopez, is that you??

Oh, and also, I was thinking about Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise" series, and how brilliantly that series comments on a lot of the same issues Andrew Haigh and co. explore here. He had some really interesting comments about monogamy when the most recent film came out. Both Haigh and Linklater do well at

I think there's a reason some people hop so easily from one relationship to another — you get to avoid processing being alone, and you don't have to deal with recognizing your shitty behavior in your previous relationship. Much easier to kick Jon to the curb if there's a new boyfriend in the picture to break your fall.

I agree. That felt so in-character, and I totally react to grief like that sometimes. I loved it. That scene had me so choked up.

I disagree with this — Kevin and Jon weren't happy because, like Patrick and Kevin, they wanted different things. Presumably Jon wasn't cool with an open relationship, and Kevin wasn't honest with him about it.

Also, I doubt he was being completely truthful there — he kinda seemed like he hesitated and tried to minimize things. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more going on than tugs at the gym and massages with happy endings.

I agree — HBO's other Sunday winter shows are good, but they're not nearly as brilliant as "Looking." Everything about this show is on another level. Fuck. I won't bother with HBO anymore if it's just "Girls" and "Togetherness" on Sundays next winter season.

Whoa… that's rough. Fuck.

I would've loved those two together, but I don't know anymore, post-Kevin.

And I still think Kevin's a bit villainous, but I agree with any of your points. Why should anyone just assume their partner is OK with that?

Makes sense. I don't think Patrick and Kevin and right for each other AT ALL, and this episode shows this on a grand scale, but I get it — I'm a lady who's been in a longterm (monogamous) relationship with a dude for 8 years now. It doesn't stop me from wanting to bang other dudes (and, occasionally, ladies).

Yup. This show is SO unique — it combines everything I like from my favorite filmmakers. The cinematography is top notch, the acting is super impressive and the dialogue sounds so natural. (Some of the episodes remind me a lot of Richard Linklater's stuff, and I mean that as a compliment — especially that stunning

OK, so I haven't gotten to watch this yet — having some "technical difficulties" — but I am really looking forward to it after reading this review. Thanks for an excellent season of reviews, and I am DYING for a third season. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, HBO. I'll buy your stupid a la carte Apple thing next month JUST for

OK, the other night I had a sex dream about Robin Lopez (the basketball player). I felt weird about it, because I'm a fan of a different team (go Spurs!) and I barely knew who he was before the dream, but he seems like a cool guy. I guess I just found it to be random, and wonder how my subconscious pulled that out of
