The best thing about this show is that it takes this ridiculously attractive man and turns him into a totally adorable goober. (Also, points for having a DUDE stripper work his way through med school.)

I LOVED this episode. So on-point. I felt like they got the mixture of characters perfect this time — not too much Peter, not too much Jeremy, not too much cameo actor of the week. Diamond Dan had me dying.
In the sequel shot through your cat's POV, maybe we'll find out for sure. Meh.
I want to see Jenny Lewis, and wouldn't mind catching the others you mentioned. (Saw St. Vincent at ACL Fest a number of years ago, but Gaslight Anthem and Outkast would be cool. Isn't Spoon also playing? I feel like a lot of the set times overlap.)
The first weekend! I'm kinda wishing I bought tickets to see them twice, buuuuuut since they're pretty much the only band I want to see there, I guess I can't complain too much.
I wish! I'm in Austin. But I will be seeing them at ACL in less than a month!
It's sad — really reminds me a lot of Bob Stinson's death from the Replacements. Sigh! All my favorites.
"Hold Me Down"!
Yeah, bums me out! I reread that 2007 article about him (I think it's "Jesus of Suburbia" every year around the time he died.)
Really great song. Just bought the album for $1 at a thrift store and have been cruising around playing it in my car this week. I had heard/liked a lot of the other tracks, but this is my new favorite.
I feel like if they hadn't kicked out their best songwriter (probably a big contributor to his death), they might have had a shot at something bigger. It makes me sad that Doug Hopkins died so young!
I prefer "Hold Me Down." But I like them all.
I have been listening to New Miserable Experience today, and am struck by how solid the whole album was.
Hell, I enjoyed "Luminol" and "Everybody Do Miss America." OK, off to take a listen.
I totally agree with you about the Wallflowers. And yeah, I feel like alt-country-leaning rock has kinda fallen by the wayside in terms of mass appeal. I still dig it. (Was just thinking about this while listening to the first Gin Blossoms album today… of course their flame-out was largely due to kicking out their…
Buy Whiskeytown. Actually, of those records you mentioned, I'd go with Gold, I think. I like Cod Roses, but never really got into Love Is Hell.
I feel the exact same way about Taco.
I found the whole set-up to be old/stale/forced/unfunny. I can't stand Taco anymore. And the Teflandre thing was just so not funny. I used to love this show. Come back, Rafi!
I get why some people might be into his look, but I for one can't stand it.
Was never a big fan of those songs, either, but they were definitely a LOT more interesting than what Maroon 5's releasing these days.
