I still remember my dad taking me to the local dump (we lived in the country) and showing me what a gun can do. We set up a scrap piece of plywood behind a log, then set a big can of tomato juice on the log. He then shot the tomato juice can with his .44. A: That gun makes a BIG boom and B: Seeing that huge splash

WTF is going on with the weird ass music on the Sansaire video?

I think I would object to the “too dangerous to fly” part, but I’m assuming that means anyone on the government’s “no fly” list. From what I’ve ready, that list as very easy to get on and exceedingly hard to get off of. It’s also largely arbitrary. It would probably not impact a large number of people (but given

I personally don’t see how making more laws is an effective way to stop this problem. In this case, the shooter bought the gun legally. If he had a longer wait period, he still would have acquired it.

What’s really funny is that the FBI is actively trying to weaken encryption in the american phone market. Suggesting we need “responsible encryption” (read, weak or with a back door encryption). Essentially trying to create the exact thing they warn against with Huawei.

I honestly think the fix to this is to stop watching it. If enough people stop watching, they lose a tremendous amount of “power” and might actually think about putting things into a format people do want to watch.

I have a new big screen in the bedroom (our “home theater”) hung on the wall above a dresser. I screwed a 1/4" piece of plywood to the back of the dresser with some home made standoffs. It sits an inch off the back of the dresser. Then I used those little square stick on things that you can velcro to and routed all

If you look at as paying to visit some magnificent architecture, it might make it easier. It really was amazing, but I get where you’re coming from. This is the only time I’ve ever seen a charge for entry on a church.

How has nobody mentioned the basilica yet? That place is amazing, regardless of your religion, it’s a beautiful building (especially inside).

I think the lack of action by the police is the worst part of this story but the margin is pretty slim.

Well, the Aquarium is pretty awesome but the Coke museum (now that they’ve re-done it) is kind of blah. A show at The Fox is pretty cool.

My hotword will be “snookums”

Doesn’t seem to me that Starbucks should be on the list, or anywhere near the top. Putting 58% of their tax savings into payroll is a hell of a lot better than the other examples on the list.

I’d skip the tissue paper, you only get about 7Db reduction that way vs, at a minimum 24 Db with crappy foam plugs and up to around 40Db with the custom inserts. I have a pair of the custom inserts provided by my job (spend a lot of time in data centers) and they’re fantastic.

Pretty sure that dog smoked a joint before the video shoot, he’s High AF.

I’d guess he saw the whole thing coming and thought “woohoo, lawsuit”

That’s really odd. I’ve been carrying one of those disposable packs of wipes for years. I do as the author does and wipe down my area as soon as I sit down.

Georgia had a bid like that, a small town outside of Atlanta said they’d rename the city to Amazon if they won. I don’t think it’s connected to Atlanta’s bid or that it made the short list.

Aww, bless your heart.
