Please tell me more about the continuum where women should exist for you and where the perfect place is where you’re pretty and bubbly enough to not be a bitch/shrew but not so pretty and bubbly that you’re a bimbo/idiot. You’re corny af.

You literally don’t know that, you’re just making boring assumptions because you can’t possibly fathom that women are multi-dimensional if they’re also interested in surface pursuits like parties and makeup.
I’m objecting to your notion that social influencer = dumb bimbo. More than that, I’m objecting to “dumb bimbo” in general. It’s condescending, patriarchal bullshit that equates “girl stuff” with low value and it’s boring and gross.
Jesus. I hope you don’t have daughters.
If you call your daughter a dumb bimbo for choosing to do something that you don’t personally find valuable then supportive doesn’t mean what you think it means.
First off, huh? Why has nobody tried to stop them? You don’t sound like you’ve done any actual work on the ground if that’s what you think. There’s only so much you can do before you run into free speech issues. In Massachusetts, we had our safety area designation deemed unconstitutional and now protesters can come…
Keenly aware of cishet white men’s gaze upon my under-qualified lady brain.
I apologize, I didn’t phrase that clearly. I don’t think black students at Ivy schools think that they are inferior, I think the fact that everyone around them thinks they got in through affirmative action instead of through the same or better grades/test scores/extracurriculars is damaging.
more stars!!!
That means literally nothing. Almost everyone who applies to USC and UCLA hits the median of getting in, and yet, more than 80% of them don’t. Somehow, I don’t believe you “looked into” UCLA at all.
Totally. Even though I received training, some of the things I heard from protesters gave me that adrenaline rush of wanting to REALLY REALLY punch someone. Plus, some of the protesters can be actually dangerous, and if you’re not in on the intel, you could be provoking someone who could hurt you.
Maybe she wasn’t a piece of shit and also that this is why you’re single?
THIS.
I’ve been a clinic escort for four years and more people standing between the client and the entrance is NOT a good thing. Walking the gauntlet of protesters during 40 Days is already upsetting enough for clients, this would make things escalate. Clients often speed-walk with their heads down to just get through this,…
Exactly.
Legacies at my alma mater got shit when they were dumb as rocks (hi Jared) but none of the pervasive stigma. Any students of color were automatically assumed to have been admitted under lower standards.
UCLA is a state school (USC in LA is not) but it is exceptionally difficult to get into due to the amount of applications received vs. places available. It’s also a very good school.
This is a big source of pain for students of color at Ivy schools. The assumption that you’re a charity case who got a “leg up”, and it can really fuck with students’ heads.
I’d imagine that little kids in class would be scared to defy their teacher or embarrassed in front of their classmates, or they might not even know that what is being done to them is wrong? Would have been nice for a teacher in an adjoining classroom to look over and go WTF IS HAPPENING HERE and make it stop.
It’s not slander when you chose to keep a predator on staff instead of creating a safe environment for your other staff member. The fact that Malik was later fired should tell you that Gillibrand had a responsibility to act sooner.
