UCLA is a state school (USC in LA is not) but it is exceptionally difficult to get into due to the amount of applications received vs. places available. It’s also a very good school. 

This is a big source of pain for students of color at Ivy schools. The assumption that you’re a charity case who got a “leg up”, and it can really fuck with students’ heads.

I’d imagine that little kids in class would be scared to defy their teacher or embarrassed in front of their classmates, or they might not even know that what is being done to them is wrong?
