Yeah, no. Uh-uh.

It has been documented that most of the abuse of welfare programs is by the vendors that work within those programs. There will always be some number of people who scam any system. Let's not overstate it, though; the amount of abuse going on in the minds of most people simply isn't happening. People always claim

Nononononono, do not want.

Let me tell you. The craziest shit ever is a C-section. Done it twice. Awake and batshit crazy both times. In no other surgery are you forced to be awake while they make an 8-inch incision, pull a 9-pound child out and sew you up, AND THEN you are forced to take care of the baby right away (cause many hospitals have

Thank you...and then they need to make a doc about the detective work it took to unravel the threads of her story.

I found the original article recently right before I was planning to go to bed. Fascinating, riveting read, and needless to say, I went to bed lated than I intended.

Not sure if trolling or ignorant to basic facts of physiology.

Why would you say that? Ever been on welfare? It doesn't pay enough to keep a flea going. No one on welfare is living like a king or queen.

no. You could say that LIVING will result in a violation of spaces. This doesn't mean you aren't polite. It means the specifics may change, but not that you drop all politesse. If you are going down the line initially, you may not say, "excuse me" to EVERY person you bump into, because that's a lot of people and

If you haven't seen it, google Lee Atwater's "southern strategy" interview. Atwater was Reagan's campaign manager. Capitalizing on a good swath of white people's feelings after civil rights was intentional. The interview is pretty shocking about how blatant Atwater was about it. I shiver every time I watch it.

I hate skinny people who spread their legs and take up space too.

Got any cites?

That's what I thought too, but you can dig deeper to see that the daily insult was over a three week period. So not during the entire term of imprisonment. But still really awful.

Federal welfare spending was higher when Reagan left office than when he began. The myth of the Republican budget-cutter is just as powerful as the myth of the welfare queen, it seems.

also a difference between daily, routine, and "every time one goes to/from court"

Oh, of course. Just wondering whether one term is being used over another to invoke more outrage.

I'm a little confused because while it says "daily" on the title and the first paragraph, the article that's sourced says "every time she left jail to go to court." Because, yeah, daily vaginal exams would be inarguably pointless and invasive and dehumanizing.

The headline says "daily" but the quotations say when they went to court. My impression was that this is the same standard in the US. Basically any time that you leave or enter the correctional facility as an inmate. That's not the same as "daily."
