Well it’s not as gimmicky as previous iterations. It’s just a control you detach, that’s all, so in a way, it shouldn’t limit developers when programming for the Switch. It rumors are to be belived, the Switch OS is also easier to program and facilitates the port from PS4/Xbox to the Switch and viceversa.

They did show a standard gamepad too. So going off of the trailer it seems like the system has at least 3 controllers. Traditional, the detachable ones to use in each hand, or use a single pad.
