Coming from a parent who has purchased most of this stuff, the figures ARE coming out every month. I don't believe there's been a month between release and now that a new figure wasn't released. The last single figure will be released as a non-exclusive at the end of this month.

Disney has previously stated that the toys will be forwards and backwards compatible. The old figures will surely work with the new base.

Disney Infinity will be annualized. It will definitely be on PS4/XB1 next time around. I wouldn't be surprised to see a port of the first game to drive sales of the series 1 toys.
