It’s as if they purposefully picked the absolute least effective way to deal with climate change or reality in general. You can’t even use the old excuse, at least it makes them feel better, because the increasing dry heat will just remind them how useless it was to mumble magical incantations to a figment of the Read more

If you keep your knives well maintained, you only need 2 or 3 passes on each side with the honing steel if your knife is sharp. If it dull but not in need of true sharpening yet, you may need more passes. You don’t gain anything with more passes on a well maintained knife and may actually end up making the blade worse.

My dog, when I was growing up, ate raisins, grapes, any kind of nut, chicken bones, dairy, mushrooms, chocolate, an entire stick of butter once and about every food item imaginable. He also ate spools of thread, wooden spool, thread and all and a box of sewing needles, crunched them into smaller pieces and swallowed Read more

For salmon, if it looks a little under done coming out of the oven or from the pan, the residual heat will keep cooking the fish by the time it gets to the table. If you cook it until it looks completely done it will be overcooked when you get it to your plate.

The going rate for both kids was 1 origami dollar. If you decide to go down this path, get a good book of simple dollar origami. Google searches worked for a while until 1 night, everything I was finding either I had already done, or was way too complicated to try at 1:00 am. I had to try and come up with something Read more

Cold turkey is the way to go. It worked with both kids who have very different personalities. Your fear of doing it is much, much worse than the actual act. Kids are very resilient. If they (NOT YOU) need it, you can prepare them for the big day when they become a big kid and don’t need a baby pacifier anymore. They Read more

I’ve always tried to answer my kid’s questions. When they hit on one I don’t know, I would tell them “let’s look it up”. That not only answers the question, but that few minutes of searching and reading tends to stop and endless string questions for a while without crushing their curiosity. Read more

A 2 to 3 oz jar can run anywhere from $4-$8, or you can get 5lbs for around $17 from a restaurant supply store like https://www.webstaurantstore.com. You’ll want to buy enough other items to minimize the impact of shipping charges, like foil, plastic wrap, vinegar, napkins, things you would need anyway. Read more

If you are relying on the bathroom fan that came with your home, you really aren’t going to see much cooling. Unless you installed a high CFM fan, the existing fan will probably be fairly weak, not to mention all the dust and hairspray coating every part of the fan. Even a brand new high CFM fan is going to have Read more

To be considered certified Angus, cattle has to be at least 51% solid black and have a defined set of genetic characteristics and can be called Black Angus. Angus has become as much of a marketing term as an actual breed classification. Around here you see many stores selling choice or select Angus to squeeze a little Read more

It’s sad to think that after he worked so hard to clean up and turn his life around after being an addict, he’s much less of a threat to society if he just went back to being an addict. Lindell is his own worst enemy. A very crazy, dangerous and misguided man. Read more

I was a realtor for a while. While realtors often have contractors they recommend. It’s often because they will cut the homeowner a deal, making the seller happy and getting both the seller and the homeowner more money. A realtor that screws a seller over for a possible tiny finder fee is killing off any chance of Read more

A lot of times people make up statements they’ve pulled out of nowhere. There are a limited number of contractors in any given market. There are generally many many more realtors in that same market. Contractors don’t exclusively marry realtors or realtors to be. Some realtors do work with specific builders, but that Read more

That’s why you only do the renovations that give you a higher return and when doing those renovations manage the scope and cost so that each dollar adds value. Your logic is a bit faulty. Realtor’s don’t make money at your expense by renovations, they aren’t general contractors doing the renovations. The only way they would make more money is if the renovation increases the value of the house. Your sale price is potentially higher meaning you get more money in your pocket and Read more
